| Aims: | To allow students to learn at first hand about experimental procedures and analyses employed in a host laboratory. |

| Description: | This scheme will finance a limited number of bursaries (5) to support undergraduates in the summer vacation immediately prior to their final year. Awards will be made to members of the Society and will provide up to 10 weeks’ support. Please see website for further information. |

| Funding: | The maximum award for each bursary is £2,000 (i.e. £200 per week). |
| *Amount: | < £5K (Estimated total funds: £10,000) |
| Closing Date: | 15 March 2010 |
| Comments: | The submission deadline is 15th March 2010. Applicants should submit their proposals to the hon. secretary prior to the March submission deadline. The proposals will be circulated to Committee members with the Agenda of the Spring Committee meeting for consideration. For further information please see their website. |
| Restrictions: | Retrospective applications will not be considered. Preference will be given to first time applicants. Applicants who are awarded a bursary in one year cannot apply in the following year. Awards will not be granted for work that is a central part of an already-funded project. |
